Metro completes the Second Creek Interceptor in July 2024. The largest transmission project in Metro’s history, the pipeline is expected to double wastewater flows to the NTP. The project involved installing 17 miles of gravity-fed interceptor pipeline, which extends Metro’s service area to the northeast Denver area.

Metro’s updated Biosolids Dewatering and Storage Facility goes online. The facility features eight centrifuges, four dewatered biosolids storage bins, electrical transformers, control room, and two truck lanes that allow up to four METROGRO trucks to be loaded simultaneously.

The largest MagPrex phosphorus recovery reactor in the world begins operation at the RWHTF. The reactor is designed to recover phosphorus from the biosolids upstream of dewatering. The phosphorus is recycled into a fertilizer product.
