Metro Water Recovery Elects New Officers

DENVER, Colo. – The Metro Water Recovery Board of Directors elected new officers on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at its regular monthly meeting. Each member is appointed to a one-year term.
Andrew Johnston is the new the chair. He represents the City and County of Denver and has served on the board since 2011. Johnston works for Denver’s Department of Housing Stability as the catalytic projects lead.
Sarah Niyork is the chair pro tem. She represents the South Adams County Water & Sanitation District and is the district’s accountant. Niyork has served on the board since 2019.
Jo Ann Giddings is the secretary. She represents the City of Aurora and has served on the board since 2019. Giddings is the Deputy Director of Aurora Water Financial Services.
Del Smith is the treasurer. He represents the Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District. Smith is a civil engineer for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and has served on the board since 2018.

Metro works with 61 local governments, including cities, counties, sanitation districts, and water and sanitation districts.
