Metro Water Recovery Recognized for Operational Excellence

Metro Water Recovery (Metro) was recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) with two Peak Performance Awards on October 28.

Metro’s Northern Treatment Plant in Brighton, Colo., and the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility in Denver received 2019 Gold Awards for achieving excellence in operational performance and permit compliance. Gold Awards are presented to facilities with full permit compliance for the calendar year.

“Our job of sustaining the high quality of life along the Front Range has never been more critical,” said Mickey Conway, CEO of Metro.  “I’m very proud to lead a dedicated team committed to managing our precious water resources.”

NACWA announces awards prior to a recognition ceremony “These utilities represent the top performers in the whole country and go above and beyond in their mission to protect public health and the environment,” said Adam Krantz, Chief Executive Officer of NACWA. “On behalf of NACWA’s Board of Directors, I extend my congratulations and gratitude to all this year’s award winners and I thank them for their service and their incredible compliance with increasingly rigid Clean Water Act standards. This year has seen unprecedented challenges in the wake of the pandemic, and the Peak Performance Award winners have more than risen to the occasion.”
